Missing Malaysian Airliner Mirrors Plot of New Book by JK Battaglia, A Slice of Life

A Slice of Life front cover

Event Horizon Productions is pleased to announce the worldwide release of the gut-wrenching but heartwarming tale of survival, A Slice of Life: A Great Tribulation Chronicle, by author JK Battaglia, in both paperback and e-book. (Amazon paperback http://www.amazon.com/Slice-Life-Great-Tribulation-Chronicle/dp/194024319X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397748195&sr=8-1&keywords=JK+Battaglia and; Kindle http://www.amazon.com/Slice-Life-Tribulation-Chronicle-ebook/dp/B00CY4WRI8/, Nook http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/a-slice-of-life-jk-battaglia/1116156135?ean=2940148628422, and iBookstore https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/a-slice-of-life/id654004200?mt=11&uo=4.)

In A Slice of Life: A Great Tribulation Chronicle, JK Battaglia, author of ‘Twas the Tragedy Before Christmas and the Bible Teasers Series, delivers to his audience his most ambitious and captivating work yet. Featuring a plot that eerily mirrors the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 on March 8, 2014, A Slice of Life is an enthralling tale of survival during the End Times in which the main character must live each day by the edge of a blade, the edge of his nerves, and the edge of his moral and religious conscience.

“In light of Hollywood’s resurrected interest in biblical stories, and the success of History channel’s series, The Bible, and the spinoff feature film, Son of God, now is the perfect time for audiences to experience and be immersed in the story of a man who tries to keep on living during the apocalyptic End Times, despite all the odds against him,” says Battaglia. “I was inspired to write this book by a dream of being left behind during the Rapture (when God will take believers from the earth before the widespread death and destruction of the Great Tribulation). I felt particular urgency to write this work because we can see the pieces of the picture of the End Times, as revealed in the book of Revelation and book of Daniel, falling into place before our very eyes.”

This book will prepare reader’s hearts and minds to be ready for that apocalyptic future by avoiding it through a wholehearted belief in God and salvation through Him.

In Battaglia’s riveting story, we follow Drake Forte, an amnesiac cloistered within a cave in the Rocky Mountains, forced into a secluded life by a global calamity.  Though he can’t remember how he got there, Drake is determined to find out . . . if life gives him the chance. Global catastrophes continually challenge his struggle for survival. Though harassed at every step by a wolf dog, challenged at every turn by the hot-headed Ashton Deveraux (who stakes a claim to his territory and resources), and menaced by a global conglomerate that will stop at nothing to assimilate all under its purview, Drake wrestles on a daily basis to find a reason for living. Ultimately, he must acknowledge the one force he has been trying to deny: God. This doesn’t come easy when Drake realizes that the Rapture has occurred, the Great Tribulation is upon him, and that sacrifices must be made in such hectic times. The question is: How dire will those sacrifices be?

“I wrote A Slice of Life in a first person journal style which has really clicked with readers,” says Battaglia. “My desire is that anyone age twelve and up who is intrigued by the Bible’s message and the apocalyptic future will be made aware of what’s coming in our near future. This book will prepare reader’s hearts and minds to be ready for that apocalyptic future by avoiding it through a wholehearted belief in God and salvation through Him.”

A Slice of Life enjoys worldwide distribution through Ingram/Spring Arbor, the world’s largest book distributor. PR and marketing for A Slice of Life will include a worldwide press release blast, interviews (radio, television, and YouTube), and a multi-platform push from social media (Facebook: JK Battaglia; Twitter: @JKBattaglia, and more).

Since grade school, JK Battaglia has enjoyed a love for the written word, though he never imagined he would write books, until recently. He loves exploring imaginative worlds and hopes you’ll grab a cup of your favorite beverage and join him on this, his latest adventure.
